Last week in Preschool we enjoyed learning about polar animals. We printed our own penguins and made and tested boats to get our little people to Antarctica. We also learned about height and length, ordering ourselves by height and measuring ourselves in different ways. Our number of the week was number 1. We found one of lots of different objects, spotted lots of number ones and practiced writing the number one.

Dear parents,
Unfortunately, Silje has had a positive test for Covid 19 this evening. This coupled with Sharon’s positive test earlier in the week, means that we do not have enough staff to safely open Little Beacons to children tomorrow. Due to positive cases within the school, we are keeping every year group in bubbles, so are not able to invite Little Beacons to join Year R for the day. Apologies for the short notice and any inconvenience caused. We will be in touch in January to offer a replacement session. If you have any items you wish to collect from preschool tomorrow, please ring the school office in the morning to arrange collection 01837 840242. We do hope you have a happy and healthy Christmas, however, if your child does suffer any covid related symptoms, please do inform us during the holidays by emailing [email protected]. Best wishes, Sarah Marvin and Shirley Culverhouse This week we have been busy working in Santa’s Workshop -decorating the tree, hanging stockings, making toys and wrapping presents. We also enjoyed a visit to the park where we enjoyed playing on the swings and pretended to be a family of dragons living in our nest in the climbing frame! This week in PreSchool we enjoyed learning different dance moves. Our favourite dances were Ghostbusters, Pirates and Superhero dances.
We’ve been enjoying exploring shape by going on shape hunts and making our own pictures and patterns.Last week we learnt about keeping ourselves safe around traffic. We learnt a new song -‘Stop, Look,Listen, Think’- and practised walking next to and crossing the road.Earlier in the week we enjoyed using the mud kitchen whilst visiting 'Big School.' We made mud brownies, soup and magic potions.
We enjoyed painting spots on Pudsey Bear, making and decorating cakes and making our own Pudsey masks.
