So wonderful to see everyone back and looking so happy and very TALL after all that lockdown growing! As this week is Science week, we have explored what makes a good structure. Check out how we did below and also the superb marble run video in slow motion at the bottom of this page. These activities promoted team work, listening, turn taking and trouble shooting as well as the science behind which structure is stable and why. So much fun! What a super arty week! We are very excited to be seeing everyone on Monday 8th! Have a super weekend,
MIss Chalcraft, Miss Bennett and Mrs White Our topic on Australia has started very strongly with superb Aboriginal style dot art, country size and location comparisons, Aussie Pavlova and Aboriginal tales from the Billabong, plus wonderful Digeridoo making. See below for actual Didgeridoo playing and a slumbering hedgehog who was found by mistake and is now back snoozing again.
In PE this week we focused on a one leg balance. The children worked through different colour levels which got progressively more difficult. I was really surprised with how well the children were able to balance when on one leg, on an uneven surface with their eyes closed!
Monday's English challenge was to design a job advertisement for a pilot in the form of a poster. I was very impressed with the amount of effort put in and the level of research that our Year 4 pupils have done. Well done Year 4!
The Firework-Maker's Daughter text has been wonderful. We have explored the characters, language, scenery, descriptions and beauty of the story. Please find a small selection of the wonderful work you have sent in, including Art, English, winter walks and cooking of Brazilian brigadeiros. Topic next half term is Australia.
