I can't believe it's the weekend already. Thank you for all of your lovely emails which included some great work on 'The Americas' and some wonderful photos showing me what you've been up to. Please take a moment to see what your classmates have been doing this week. It makes me so happy to see you all smiling so much in your photos. Keep up the great work Year 4 - I'm super proud of you!
I asked you yesterday to tell me some of your favourite books and if you had any that you would recommend to your classmates. Here is a list of some books that you might like to try that have been enjoyed by others in Year 4:
Bad Dad – David Walliams Harry Potter series – JK Rowling Shadows of Winterspell – Amy Wilson The Explorer – Katherine Rundell Star Wars: Jedi Academy The St. Clare’s series – Enid Blyton and Pamela Cox The Murderer’s Ape – Jakob Wegelius The Land of Roar – Jenny McLachlan Brianna and her sister used their amazing step dancing skills to put together a dance linked to our butterfly topic work. The step dance represents the life cycle of a butterfly. Brianna explained: "The first bit with the small, more stationary steps (called 'basics', 'walk the heels' and 'hiccups') represents the egg, then the 'chugs' forward and backwards represent the movement of the caterpillar. After that there are 'turning basics' to represent the chrysalis being spun and then the 'cowboys' (where we tap with their heels and then hop) show the butterfly breaking out of the chrysalis. The rest of the dance are bigger movements representing the butterfly, including a step they made up that they call 'flaps'." Well done Brianna. I hope you all enjoy watching it! Thank you for sending in more of your lovely photos. There's been lots of baking, science experiments, outdoor fun and some fantastic drawing going on. Have a look to see what your classmates have been up to...
Matthew has put together a fantastic quiz that he originally made for a family Skype call. He would really like you to have a go at it. See how well you score...
matthews_quiz.pptx Thanks to all of you who have sent me a selfie over the last few days. I asked you to take a selfie with an animal...here's what you came up with...
