We were blessed with the weather on Wednesday for our walk along the base of Cawsand / Cosdon along to the Triple Row. Charles and Debbie Scott were our guides and talked to us about the history of the moor from Cists, to Triple Rows, to granite splitting using the Feather and Tail method. A truly wonderful morning of fresh Dartmoor air and Starlings calling. Thank you to the Year 4 patent volunteers! Awesome effort Year 4! What a super morning of forest school, Tepee building and team building - and the showers held off! We enjoyed our socially distanced hot chocolate around the fire with year 5 and had a good ole sing song! Thank you year 4, it was a wonderful morning! In Art this week with Mrs White, year 4 started learning about hieroglyphics. They wrote their own names on stunning slate using fine brushes and acrylic paint. These will be varnished and then go home. Jasmine shared her Charmouth fossil finds and Alex shared his family Egyptian treasures which included a tablecloth, papyrus painting, various wonderful books which will be very informative for our topic and a super long map of the Nile. We have also had a Bananagram challange of how many CEWs can we use.
Have a super Bank Holiday weekend, Miss C, Miss B and Mrs W. A fun packed week here in Year 4! In topic, we are learning about 'Egypt', in Science we have started learning about Living Things and Environment, in Maths we are starting Decimals and in English we are enjoying reading Esio Trot and the hopeful love story between My Hoppy and Mrs Silver. We have been speaking about our worries and how best to make a worry go away. A problem shared is a problem halved! Have a super weekend!
Here is a treat for you ... Fun dance at end inspired by this video. |
