Good morning year 6. I hope you're up and ready for your Joe Wicks workout!
Good morning to year 6 on this sunny Monday morning!
We hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready to make a start at a new way of working. We have devised a rough time schedule, if you wish to adhere to it, which could give you a good home learning structure if you are struggling with where to begin. Up, dressed, breakfast and ready to go by 9am! 9:00 - 9.30 am Joe Wicks live on his YouTube channel for your morning PE. 9.30 - 10.45 am Literacy 10.45 -11:15 am Break (get outside if possible and have a snack) 11:15 -12:30 pm Maths 12:30 -1:30 pm Lunch (again, get outside and move around if you can!) 1:30 - 3.00pm Topic activities (this week from the animations topic web. You can pick and choose which ones you do, but try to cover as many subjects as you can) Following a structure like this means school work can be all completed by 3:00 pm, leaving the you plenty of free choice time. There are so many fun things to do at home and I'm uploading new ideas all the time to the school news blog. While the weather is so lovely, try to get out into the garden and keep as active as possible. I (Mrs Marvin) will be available through the day to support you with your work and to give feedback where required. I'll be expecting to hear from you all during the week to check how you're getting on. I know you won't feel like completing your home learning initially, but it is really important that you keep learning through this period. Take care and stay safe! Here is the topic project for the week (it, of course, can extend into the Easter break if required/wanted). The idea would be to have a go at a task from each of the subject boxes, your choice which! This project will roll out over all of KS2, meaning if you have siblings accessing the same, they can work together. Have fun with it and I look forward to seeing some of your learning.
Year 6 Topic overview Many educational websites are making their resources free to students who are off school. Many of them have been gathered in this useful document:
Online resources to support home learning Please follow the links to today's home learning. Please email completed work back for marking.
Maths time questions Answers for yesterday Literacy PSHE Human Rights belong to everybody but what are Human Rights in the first place? Suggested website: https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en Have chat with your family (or via technology with your friends) about what you think human rights are. Also talk about any worries or anxieties that you're feeling at the moment. If it's hard to talk about, try writing it down and giving it to someone at home to read. You can email me too if that helps. Hi everyone. Please follow the links to today's tasks. Remember, you can always email me for support or marking.
Maths Answers to yesterday's maths work Literacy We're starting a new unit in literacy today on Instructions and Explanations. First, you need to read the PowerPoint on the features of each. Then, I'd like you to write a clear set of instructions on How to be a Superhero or How to be a Villain. I'd like you to email this writing back to me. You can type it or send me a photo of your written work. Please also send me your stories from yesterday. Explanations Instructions If you weren't in school yesterday, you need to research the art work of David Hockney and have a go at creating your own art work in a similar style. You can go to the School News blog on this website to see some pictures which years 3 and 6 made in class. Please follow the link learn about our art collaboration with year 3
