Why not have a go at making a minibeast themed headband or hat ready for our end of term bug party during Friday's zoom?
With the help of Miss Pearce and Mrs Bond, children attending school today created and performed a frog themed dance.
We will be finishing our minibeast topic by heading to the pond to explore bugs and animals that live in that habitat. Here he is feeding the chick. There was a buzz of excitement in class today whilst making these bees.
See below for this week's bee craft ideas. bee_themed_craft_ideas.pdf Have you heard of a froghopper? They are small brown insects that can jump a long way and feed on plant sap. They are also called spittlebugs because of the spittle that they produce to protect their baby. The young froghopper nymph lives inside a mass of foam, often called 'cuckoo spit.'
Take a careful look on plants and grass when you are on your next walk, you might find some froghopper nymphs in their cuckoo spit. |
