Year Two had a great morning having a go at fencing. We learnt to follow several instructions including: halt, en garde, back, forward and fence.
Mrs Dennis. Year Two had great fun this morning learning some new, circus based skills. There was plate spinning, juggling, stilt walking, hula hooping and much more!! We all had a great time and a huge thank you must go to the PTA for the funds that they have raised to allow for all of these exciting opportunities.
Mrs Dennis. Year Two had a great morning exploring rock pools and learning about the different species that could be found in a rock pool. We enjoyed touching some of the different crabs and had a go at creating our own plasticine models. We also read the story of Sally and the limpet.
Over the next few weeks we have some more exciting visitors planned, watch this space to see some of the other exciting visits that we have coming up. Mrs Dennis. During their Phonics sessions, Mrs Horsley's group have been working hard creating some different types of poems.
Mrs Dennis. Year Two enjoyed having a session with OCRA this afternoon; having lots of fun trying some dance, basketball skills and football skills.
Mrs Dennis. During our P.E sessions, Year Two were given the challenge of creating a team game for the rest of their class using a set equipment list. The children worked well as a team to create games for the rest of their class to play; they thought carefully about rules and outcomes that they would like to be achieved.
Mrs Dennis. In our Phonics group, Year Two had a go at writing these Kenning poems, can you guess what they might be describing?

As part of their Phonics session, some of the Year Two children wrote their own frog life cycles. The children looked at the features of an explanation text and had to include: technical language, conjunctions, adverbs of time and information about the stages of a frogs life.
Mrs Horlsey and Mrs Dennis. On a lovely, sunny Thursday morning Year Two enjoyed taking part in our sponsored circuits session. We had 6 activity stations that the children were able to work their way around with the rest of their team. I was very impressed with the team work and perseverance from lots of the children. Great work Year Two!!
