This week we have set-up some experiments to investigate what plants need to grow. The children identified questions they wanted to investigate, the method and then set-up they own investigation.
Our Questions What happens if a plant:
The Moon LandingIn science this week learnt about the first moon landing back in 1969 and the children re-enacted the scene using the famous quote, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. ForcesYear 3 carried out an number of investigation looking at forces. They set-up the investigations, noted their observations and identified the forces in action. Great work! Mechanical HandsUsing their science knowledge in DT, the child made some mechanical hands.
Enjoying the February SunshineWe've looked at pushes, pulls and twists, this week the children have deepened their understanding about friction. It's been lovely to see everyone getting so enthusiastic about science; the proof is in the investigations! For those working from home, you improvised well using t-towels, grass, books and rolls of sandpaper - great work! |
