It's been a rather busy final week, but the children ended the term with a fun-filled day of art. They were able to model their own dragons out of clay before painting them. I'm sure you'll all agree, they look fantastic! Have a lovely half- term break, and see you all on the Monday 31st when we'll be heading to Kents Cavern!
This week, in Year 3, the children have enjoyed an outdoor learning session with the Devon Wildlife Trust and have written letters to their dragon pen pals. During the outdoor learning, the children learnt a great deal about trees and used images and keys to help identify the different trees we have around school. Everyone was rather excited to be able to write to their dragon pen pal this week, too! Have a lovely weekend!
,This week, Year 3 have enjoyed exploring some Stone Age activities such as whittling spears (which we used to make a large class hedgehog), using charcoal from the fire to draw, making outdoor cooking and leaving Stone Age signs and trails for their classmates. They have also continued to investigate light. This week, we explored transparent, translucent and opaque materials. Have a lovely weekend!
It's been another busy week in Year 3. We have been investigating reflection in Science... And bringing our dragon pictures to life... Have a lovely weekend!
The children have had another great week. As you'll see from the pictures, they were all particularly proud of their dragon drawings. Next week, we'll be adding colour using pastels. They're all going to look fantastic! Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
It's a a been a very busy final week, but I think it's safe to say the children have enjoyed it. Yesterday, the children enjoyed cooking their Chinese recipes and trying them at the end of the day with our mini Chinese feast. Today, they all enjoyed playing their games together and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks whilst munching on popcorn, sweets and biscuits! A lovely treat to end the year. The highlight of the day was receiving a reply from Michael Morpurgo's literary agents! You may remember that, earlier in the term, the children wrote to Michael Morpurgo about his book Long Way Home. It was so lovely to finish the year with a reply as the children worked so hard on their letters. Well done to all the children for a fantastic year!
We all wish everyone a wonderful, restful and safe summer holiday. The Year 3 Team. As well as taking part in the cricket tournament, Year 3 also had the opportunity to work with Ryan, from Immersion, to create some robots which they then raced and battled. The children also had a go at orienteering at the Recreation Ground. They thoroughly enjoyed both activities and there were smiles and excitement all around!
The children in Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic day of Cricket on Wednesday.
They got to try out some key skills and compete in matches. They all played brilliantly and there was some great teamwork! |
