Hollie and Joshua have both used their enjoyment of poetry to write two excellent poems of their own, based on the Coronavirus and Minecraft. Hollie also wrote a thank you letter to all the staff of the NHS and was sent a reply by the CEO, Simon Stevens. Well done to everyone, as I know that you are all working hard at home. Currently available to read online, The Book of Hopes is a collection of short stories, poems, essays and pictures from more than 110 children's writers, including Anthony Horowitz, Greg James & Chris Smith, Michael Morpurgo and Jacqueline Wilson. There are some lovely illustrations, and who knows, it may inspire you to have a go at writing a poem, a short story or to create a picture of your own. Joshua's lockdown wish of going crabbing with his family came true yesterday in Dartmouth, where he caught and released about 40 crabs! He also saw lots of boats, great inspiration for our new boat topic.
