It's been so lovely to see you all this week. I hope you all had a lovely half term and made the most of your free time. You have all returned with a brilliant attitude and have continued to work hard. Keep it up for just one more week and then we can all return to a form of normality. You have produced some lovely work in English this week; I particularly enjoyed reading your own endings for the story 'Varmints'. Below are some pictures of half term and Screen Free Friday fun! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and make the most of the glorious weather we're forecast.
One week to go - I can't wait to see you all again! I hope you've all had a lovely day today and managed to stay warm! Well done to all of you for your efforts during this half term; you've improved week on week and should be proud of all the hard work you have put in over the past few weeks. Tom has continued to work on his Karate skills and has shared a video with us which you can watch below. Please feel free to send me photos of what you do during half term - it would be great to share them with everyone. I hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable half term break. See you all on Monday 22nd! It's been another busy week in Year 6. You have created some lovely pieces of work based on Shaun Tan's book, The Lost Thing. It has tied in rather nicely with Children's Mental Health and Well-being week. Some of this week's activities proved just how well you can express yourselves and in class, we had some in-depth discussions too.
Once again, you have produced some amazing artwork (some of which can be seen below) and it was great to see how you spent your first 'screen free' Friday afternoon. Please email more photos through to me; I love seeing them all. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. See you all next week. Another successful week filled with fantastic stories, some brilliant junk modelling, excellent maths work and our first 'Screen Free' Friday.
I hope you all made the most of your time away from the screen; I've had some lovely photos sent to me - have a look below. Next week, we'll be moving onto a new topic in English and maths. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Well done to all of you for another successful week. There has been some really lovely examples of writing produced this week, as well as some excellent art work and thoughtful comments in RE and SCARF. Great job, everyone! Below, there are some examples of the similes and metaphors you created in English and a picture of the children in school working with the Saints coaches.
Next week, we will be creating junk models in art, so can you please keep some of your recycling. I would also like to fill next week's blog with pictures of what you've been up to in your free time. Please send me some pictures of you walking, cycling, gardening or anything else you've been doing in the fresh air. Please make the most of the sunny (albeit chilly) weather that we are forecast this weekend! Have a lovely weekend. Some of your similes and metaphors The Tree of life is as tall as a mountain. The tractor is a ferocious beast, its wheels tearing through the ground. Freddie T Frog’s skin is a piece of sandpaper The city was a graveyard. The polar bears were as white as a pillow sheet. The waterfall is an explosion of sea dragon’s fury. That's week two complete! Well done to all of you; you continue to show just how hardworking and perseverant you are! You have created some really lovely work this week. I particularly enjoyed every single one of your TV and Radio adverts; they really did make me smile and laugh - something that is so important at a time like this! If you'd like me to share yours on our class blog, please let me know and I'll will try my best to upload it.
I hope the weather stays dry this weekend so you can all get some fresh air and stretch your legs. Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday morning at 9:15. It's not the start to 2021 we all hoped for, but as always, you've tackled it head on. You've produced some fantastic work; I particularly liked your graffiti inspired artwork and your gadget designs.
I hope the regular meetings have proved useful to you - it's lovely to see you all and it really breaks up the day in school nicely. Starting on Thursday 14th, we will be having Zoom lessons with Saints coaches. I will send out the link early next week. I hope you all have a restful weekend! We've almost made it to the end of term. It's been a rather strange term, with isolation and home learning, but the children have continued to work hard. Today, we started to get into the festive spirit with our Christingle service. It wasn't quite the same as normal, but it was still lovely to see all the candles lit and to hear some carols.
I hope everyone has a really enjoyable and restful Christmas break with family and friends (as much you are able to of course). See you all on Tuesday 5th January! This week has proven to be an incredibly busy one. Year 6 have completed all their assessments, practised Christmas carols and today, took part in the Santa Dash. The children looked fantastic in their Christmas clothes and had great fun. A big 'well done' must also go to them for their hard work and concentration during the assessments.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone! |
