What a great first week to start off the summer term! Below are the links you need for next week's activities. Like last week, when you click on the maths link it may take you to summer, week 2. Please can you make sure you select summer, week 1 and complete those tasks. For literacy, I have given you the choice of two units of work. The first is a Year 6 unit based on The Highwayman. This does include some themes of death, so if you feel it is not suitable, I have also attached the year 5 poetry unit for you to have a look at. You only need to choose one to do. The butterfly unit will continue for another week; I'm looking forward to seeing more fantastic creations. Don't forget to log onto IDL or Nessy (if you have accounts) and Times Table Rockstars. I've also posted a few more links for different physical activities below. Please get in touch if you need any help with any thing. You could film yourself doing the exercises or plan it out on paper - the choice is yours. Click here to head over to Barefoot's website and have a go at some different computing activities. There is an introductory video available for you to watch too. The first week back is complete and I've been receiving some great photos today. It's great to see you all getting so creative! Where has the sunshine gone? On a day like today, you may find you have some excess energy to burn off. There are several links below to fun, physical activities for you to have a go at. The BBC have even created some active videos for different subjects. Click on the links below to find something you'd enjoy and use up that energy! You could even put on your raincoats and do a rain dance. Have a great day! BBC Supermovers NHS Change4Life I've been in school today; it was really lovely to see Sienna, her sister Maisie and Lucy (Year 1). Whilst we were at school busying ourselves with different activities, several of you have sent me some lovely pictures of what you've been up to day and during the past week or so. It's really great to see such a wide variety of activities going on. Before the Easter holidays, usernames and passwords were set up for you access Times Table Rockstars and Numbots (these have been emailed to your parents). They are fun, interactive programmes, and I've heard, from other teacher friends, that their classes really enjoy the games. Why don't you log on to the website here and give it a try? RE Below are links to two RE units of work. The first is based on Judaism and the second is a project based activity which you can then enter into a competition. You can choose one to have a go at or even try both. Don't forget to send me some photos of any fantastic work you do! Judaism Spirited Art Have great day! Maisie has been busy creating a factual poster about butterflies and Harriet has put together a wonderful PowerPoint presentation. You can view it here. It's great to see some of you already embracing the butterfly topic and find other ways, such as cooking and creating, to keep yourselves busy. Take a look at the gallery below to see what some of Year 6 have been up to. Keep them coming guys; I love to see what you've been up to. Harriet and George have been making the most of having their dad (Mark) at home; they have been enjoying some really interesting geography lessons about weather! I've always wanted to learn sign language, so I've decide that I am going to challenge myself to learn the BSL (British Sign Language) fingerspelling alphabet. I wondered if any of you would be up for the challenge too? I've put the alphabet below and would love to see some photos of how you're getting on it with it. Maybe some of you would like to record yourselves signing a short message to your class mates. Click here if you'd like to find out more about BSL and have a go at their finger spelling challenge. |
