It's been so lovely to hear from so many of you today and to see so many photos of what you've all been up to. As well as the photos below, there's also an impressive animation, created by Abi and Izzie, on the School News blog. Eva drew, painted and shaded this beautiful butterfly all free-hand. You can almost imagine it flying off from the page! Eleanor has shared some photos of the fun she's been having. Eleanor, you're far braver than me - I wouldn't have stood that close to the snake! It's been great to hear from so many of you already and to see what you have been up to during the Easter break. Cookery, gardening, camping (in the back garden of course), sewing, painting and exploring the Moors. It's great to see that you are finding so many ways to keep busy. Well done everyone! Well done to Harriet who has discovered some great knitting skills and has also been very helpful in the vegetable garden! Welcome back everyone; I hope you've all had a restful, enjoyable and healthy Easter break. It feels so good to be back (albeit in sightly different circumstances than expected), and I've missed you all so much! I've been keeping myself updated with how you're all getting on by regularly checking the Year 6 blog; I must say, I'm so incredibly proud of how well you have adapted to this strange time and the fantastic work and activities you have been completing - keep it up guys! I will be on hand to provide any support or help you may need, so if anything is a bit confusing, please just ask. Finally, thank you all for your kind words and well wishes while I was away - they all meant a great deal. Fingers crossed we will all see each other again soon. In the meantime, have fun with the activities, be creative and don't forget to share your successes with me. I can't wait to hear from you all! Below are the links for the upcoming week. The Butterflies topic web gives you ideas of activities that you can do across the next two weeks. A new topic will be posted fortnightly. Please remember to try to stay active and include some form of fun, physical activity into your day, even if it is just a walk as part of your daily exercise allowance. Take care and have a great week, Mrs Everett Work for the W/C 13/04/20
Literacy Maths (Please complete the work for week 2) whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/ Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Topic Butterflies You can select any activities you like the sound of, or you may even like to create some of your own. Whatever you choose, be sure to share your creations with me and, if you're happy to, I can share them on our class blog. Thank you to Ewan who has sent in these videos of what he's been up with his dad. Ewan has made a replica school fire alarm system. He says that the alarm and the red light is on the new school buildings and the bell is the old side. Ewan wired it all up himself with his dad's advice!
Dear year 6,
I hope you've all enjoyed looking at each other's pet photos on the year 6 blog https://www.southtawton.co.uk/year-6/pet-parade It's not too late to send me pictures of your pets to add if you'd like to. For our Easter holiday challenge and our next gallery, I'd love photos of you cooking and the amazing dishes you prepare. Thanks to Abi for this great idea. Spending this time at home learning to cook and helping your parents will be rewarding on many levels, so let's get sharing photos and recipes. This week, I ended up taking home all the pears for KS1 fruit that got left in school. Some of them were a little over-ripe and I used them to make Pear Muffins (we called them puffins!). You'll have to take my word that they were delicious, as we've eaten them all! Alongside this gallery, lets also have a gardening and Spring one. Please send me any nature photos, tadpoles, new buds and leaves, flowers etc and any pictures of you helping your parents in the garden. Our daffodils are looking lovely, so I might put some photos of them on to get us started. Enjoy your Easter break. Hopefully you'll be able to get to the shops for Easter eggs! Keep hand-washing! Mrs Marvin See if you can guess which year 6 pupil and her brother made and narrated this animation. |
