After reading the story of The Three Little Pigs, we discussed which materials were best for building. We looked at solid shapes, their faces and properties when building. We also had a team work challenge to create the strongest pig's house. A fantastic addition to our provision is the DT work bench area. Children have drawn plans and learnt new skills using real tools. Here are some photos of our work.
What a super, sunny start to the beginning of term. We have rounded the week off by holding our own teddy bear's picnic.
We have learnt about the Christian festival of Easter, made our own Easter gardens and enjoyed making chocolate nests for the eggs we found. Happy Easter Everyone! Our Easter and spring themed gardens
Our forest school took on a jungle theme. We decorated leaves, built dens for jungle animals and made rain sticks.
Although we can't visit the zoo at the moment, on Friday we enjoyed an online zoo session all about African animals. We saw videos and learnt information from the zoo keeper. After the session we made our own zoos using construction equipment and junk.
We are all so pleased to be back together, playing and learning with all our classmates. We have learnt lots of new words and information about jungle animals, their camouflage and what they eat. Here we are with our own mask creations and the classroom display showing our super animal descriptions. ![]() Well done to all our Year R children and the adults who have been helping them with home learning activities. They way you have engaged with our daily live lessons, completed the tasks set and kept me updated with your photos and messages has been truly wonderful. To show how much you have achieved, see the photo below of Pippa sitting amongst all her home learning this term (and that doesn't include all the online activities too!) You have all worked so hard. We've made it... it's the final day of home learning today!!!!

Mrs Marvin will be hosting a World Book day assembly at 9am (parents have been sent the link). I will see you at 10am for our live lesson, please bring a favourite book so we can share. year_r_home_learning_4-3-21.pdf See below for today's PE activity. |
